Studio Mode

Studio Mode lets you prepare and preview a scene before putting it live. Control OBS supports the full Studio Mode workflow, including scene selection, transition types, and duration control.

Enabling Studio Mode

Studio Mode is toggled in OBS Studio, not in the app. Go to View › Studio Mode in OBS. Once enabled, the app automatically switches to show both the Preview and Programme scenes.

Preview and Programme

When Studio Mode is active, two scene slots are shown:

Programme - the scene currently going out live. Shown in the main scene list with a live indicator.

Preview - the scene being prepared. Tap a scene in the list to set it as preview.

Transitioning

Tap the Transition button to push the current preview scene to programme. The transition type and duration you have selected will be used.

For a fast cut without any transition effect, tap the Cut button. This switches the programme scene instantly regardless of the selected transition type.

Transition type

Tap the transition name displayed between the Preview and Programme panels to open the transition picker. This lists all transitions you have configured in OBS Studio. Select one to set it as the active transition for the next cut.

Transition duration

Duration presets are shown below the transition picker. Available presets range from 100 ms up to 1 second. Tap a preset to apply it. The duration is sent to OBS immediately.
