Streaming & Recording

Start and stop your stream or recording, change your stream destination and key, monitor bitrate and dropped frames, and control the replay buffer - all from your phone.

Starting and stopping a stream

Tap the Go Live button on the Status tab or the Stream widget on the Dashboard. The app will ask for confirmation before starting or stopping to prevent accidental taps.

Once live, the button changes to Stop Streaming. The current stream duration and live bitrate are shown in real time.

Stopping a stream cannot be undone. The confirmation dialog is there for this reason. Double-check before confirming.

Recording

Recording is controlled separately from streaming. Use the Record button to start, pause, or stop a recording session.

Tap Record to start recording.
Tap Pause to pause mid-recording without splitting the file.
Recording duration and file size are shown while active.

Auto-record with stream

You can configure the app to automatically start recording whenever you go live, and stop recording when the stream ends. Go to Settings › Recording and enable the relevant toggles.

Start recording with stream - recording begins automatically when you start a stream.
Stop recording when stream stops - recording is stopped automatically when the stream ends.

When either setting is active, the stream start and stop confirmation dialogs include a one-time override checkbox. Tick it to skip the auto-record behaviour for that session only, without changing your settings permanently.

Stream destination and key

Tap the stream destination area on the Status tab to change where you are streaming. You can select a preset platform (Twitch, YouTube, Kick) or enter a custom RTMP URL. You can also update your stream key directly from the app without opening OBS on your computer.

Stream keys are sensitive credentials. They are stored securely in the device keychain and are not transmitted to AntiScuff servers. Do not share your stream key with anyone.

Replay buffer

If the Replay Buffer is enabled in OBS, you can start, stop, and save clips directly from the app. Saving the replay buffer writes the last N seconds (as configured in OBS) to your recordings folder.

Virtual camera

The virtual camera toggle appears on the Status tab when OBS Studio supports it. Tap to start or stop the virtual camera, which makes your OBS output available as a camera source in video call apps.

Monitoring stream health

The Status tab and the Stream widget on the Dashboard both show live stream statistics:

Bitrate - live output bitrate in kbps, updated every 2 seconds.
Dropped frames - number and percentage of dropped frames since the stream started.
Timecode - elapsed stream and recording time.

For more detail including CPU usage, FPS, and memory, see the Status & Monitoring guide.
